Madrid Guide

Madrid is not the first city that comes to mind when thinking of spicy food, but it hides more secrets than it appears. An international scene that never stops growing, with the explosion in recent years of a great regional Chinese cuisine scene: Sichuan, Hunan, Chongqing, Canton, Beijing... But also curries from the south of India or Southeast Asia and some Latin and Asian communities supplying fresh chilies at every market.

Local food also has its own spicy way (although we know it's generally less so): some callos with their guindilla, a good spicy banderilla or a stew with a kick of cayenne that makes you sweat in winter. This is our selection of restaurants where we enjoy sweating the most and the shops where we stock up on good stuff, all on a map.

A hot tip for those who live in Madrid: the Meetup Spicy Soul Club organizes spicy dinners at different venues roughly once a month. A wonderful group of people and highly recommended.
